El-Baradei, who traveled to Tripoli and met with Qaddafi, declared his satisfaction that Libya was cooperating with the UN atomic watchdog and allowing in-depth searches of sites.

Isn't this like Wilson traveling to Niger and talking with a few people and deciding that the uranium story STILL NOT RESCINDED OR DENIED by British intelligence, was baseless?

I mean it's nice that Qaddafi is finally agreeing to cooperate.. But it's only after the PSI caught his RED-HANDED in October trying to ship in centrifuges..

Where was the IAEA in that incident?

But some senior US officials have accused the IAEA of rushing into Libya, and suggested the United States and Britain do not want to entrust the task of verifying Libyan disarmament to the IAEA alone.

And given the haste to make a pre-judgement about the status of Libya's nuclear program, I'd say that's pretty wise.

I think El-Baradei is too interested in getting his face in front of a camera and subvert the international political system.

His job is to REPORT officially to the international community, not jump to conclusions based upon limited exposure to Libya's WMD program and documentation.
