Applied Films Announces New Vice President

LONGMONT, Colo., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Applied Films Corporation (Nasdaq: AFCO - News) announced today the appointment of Mr. J.H. Bae, Vice President of Asia Pacific commencing January 1, 2004. Mr. Bae will be responsible for all of the sales and service offices in Asia for Applied Films, reporting directly to President and CEO Thomas Edman. Mr. Bae will be based in Seoul, South Korea.
Mr. Bae joined Applied Films in July 1, 2003 from IPS Ltd., a Korean manufacturer of Vacuum Deposition Equipment for the Semiconductor and Flat Panel display markets where he was the CEO & Executive Director. Prior to his experience at IPS, he was the Executive Director of Varian Korea Ltd. a manufacturer of Vacuum Deposition Equipment & Ion Implanter for the Semiconductor industry, and before Varian Korea, Mr. Bae was employed by Samsung Electronics and other companies in various capacities first as an Equipment Engineer in 1975 and finally as the Sales & Service Director of the JaeLim Engineering Ltd.
