...that arab societies are already reacting to this pressure from civilized societies.

Arab societies are and will continue to be civilized societies. You have no damn right to be derogatory of their society by saying that they are yielding to the pressure from civilized societies. Their own socieities are civilized enough to purge themselves of radical elements. They have a culture and a very rich history. That their society is civilized is borne by the fact that the radicals within their society are frustrated have to resort to violence in places such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey etc. Otherwise how do you account for the fact that the series of deadly bombings there in SA and Turkey, the work of Al Qaeda. The Bushies and their cronies are flooding the media with accusations that SA is funding the terrorists. Dead wrong. There is a faction in SA who oppose the terrorists tooth and nail. And the USA does not need to take their internal turmoil as a pretext to march into SA and capture their oilfields.
