There are many fascinating currents in the world today. You won't hear about them in the US media because unless the US is directly involved and the story line is already well-known (and market-tested) with viewers, journalists don't want to cover it and ordinary folks just don't care.

Writing off "old Europe" is just one of the many foolish missteps in the PNAC-colored telescopic view of the world. Asia is probably the leading region to watch this century, with growing Eurasian ties not far behind.
