I think you are mistaken. If my Shar-pei was a full size one and trained for fighting it would beat your pit bull. You should ask people in the know about this becuase in China Shar-pei were trained for fighting, in spite of their docile personality and the reason they were is because they are the ONLY breed that can kill a pit bull. I'm not making this up. A Shar-peis skin is easily torn but if the pitbull mistakenly goes for the Shar-peis neck it's game over for the pitbull.
