Clinton has already intervened bigtime by getting Clark to run and initially giving Edwards a big push. Also, Bill knows Hillary is not a very good candidate. He may be her husband but he's pragmatic. She might be a good Vp candidate in 2008 but that's about it. Dick Morris has been spreading the story that the Clintons want Bush to win in 2004. That's preposterous.

Speaking of Morris, he was on Hannity-Colmes tonight and feels Dean can only win if the Iraq War gets worse and stays bad. Otherwise, Dean is so far to the left he can't move back to the center in time. Interestingly both Democrats on the show were criticizing Dean. I would say at least half the Dem party does not want to concede the race to Dean and will become more and more concerned and active about making sure there is a viable replacement. Of course voters have to cooperate with that plan.

The news from Iowa is that Kerry might beat Gephardt and come close to Dean. Kerry was smart to move resources into Iowa because if he does strongly there New Hampshire might do a 180 for him and defy Dean. NH has a solid record of voting different from the previous polls and defying the conventional wisdom.
