MATAWAN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2004--iVoice, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IVOC - News), a leader in speech recognition technology, today announced today it has received United States Patent 6,671,354 for a patent for a Speech-Enabled Automatic Telephone Dialer without the need for a PBX. This technology uses a seamless interface with computer based address book programs such as Microsoft® Outlook®. "iVoice will be offering the opportunity for companies to procure the rights to the technology under licensing agreements under which iVoice would receive compensation on a royalty basis" said Jerry Mahoney, of iVoice, Inc. "The grant of this patent is centrally important to iVoice, Inc. not only to defend its technology but also to leverage offensively in the marketplace" added Mr. Mahoney. "We believe that any name dialer solution sufficient to satisfy the minimum customer requirements will require either a license from us under one or more of our patents or many years of research and development in search of an alternative solution" he furthered.
With the worldwide explosion in the usage of mobile phones, clients are seeking easier and more convenient ways of accessing information and conducting business. Speech-enabled solutions such as the iVoice Name Dialer help meet this demand -- enabling users to stay connected to the people and information they need, when and where they need it. Speech Enabled enhanced services can also benefit telecommunications carriers by helping them provide value-added services to their customer base.
The present invention is a speech enabled automatic telephone dialer device, system, and method using a spoken name corresponding to name/telephone number data of computer-based address book programs. The Speech Enabled Name Dialer imports all of the names and telephone numbers from your existing Microsoft Outlook, ACT, Gold Mine or other contact management software and can automatically connect you with anyone you ask for. You simply pick up the phone, tell the Name Dialer the name of the person you want to contact, and the Name Dialer finds the telephone number and dials for you. All of your contacts are made available by name or number, at anytime, from anyplace.
