The last terror alert from Tom Ridge didn't make sense until now. He claimed that terrorists planned to hijack an Air France jet from Paris, wait until it was over Las Vegas (and thereby nearly out of fuel), and crash it into a casino. This caused the cancellation of some Air France flights and all sorts of orange alert restrictions in Las Vegas. Now the truth is coming out. This was just a pretext to use the Patriot Laws to track and spy on holliday vacationers who might be planning on using a bit of gambling to disguise their tax obligations. All of the Las Vegas hotels and casinos had to grind their data about any and all visitors or gamblers into the total awareness computers under the pretext of looking for Bin Laden. cbsnews.com
