In actuality there is no shortage of oil.
It is in the form of oil shale and tar sands and there are enough of them to supply our energy needs.

Oil can be drilled for about $5 per barrel or whatever but oil shale requires a price above $25 or whatever.

IMO we should be doing more to develop those resources now.
If we do there is no need to go to war over oil.
I really doubt a war with China is in the works over oil or women or whatever.
