And are you saying it is right to act as God in administering the supreme punishment. Apparently you consider it to be quite civilized for the Arabs to do so merely for committing adultery.. At least my view is that, if you take another human life via premeditated and deliberate murder not conducted in self-defense (personal or national), your life can be forfeited. Btw, it has nothing to do with God, though there are arguments by religious people justifying capital punishment. It has to do with preserving civic order and personal rights. After all, why should the perpetrator of a premediated criminal murder have more human rights than their victim. Why should they be permitted to become a financial burden (and potential menace should they escape) on the society they seek to prey upon? As for DNA testing, I'm a BIG fan of it. I'm astonished that some courts have proven unwilling, or hesitant, to re-open murder cases where DNA evidence exonerates the convicted. To not exonerate these people is tantamount to permitting the REAL perpetrator to avoid punishment for their crime. It's also a violation of the victim's human rights to receive justice for the crime committed against them and their family. Now please explain to the thread why you believe a civilized society can justifiably kill someone for having sex outside of marriage... Or for that society to chop off the extremity of a thief who has committed no act of violence against the victim? I can't wait to hear this... Hawk
