The name calling should stop on both sides.

Don't hold your breath. This year's Presidential campaign is going to be the nastiest ever. Bush has the advantage of incumbency, so he may take the high road and point to the improving economy, gradual stabilization in Iraq, etc, but who knows. Another terrorist attack on US is a big wild card politically. Otherwise, I think Dean's going to prove too good a target, and both sides are sufficiently bellicose to get down and dirty. Saddam's trial could also help Bush. As a blogger on another site (can't remember which one) said, "Imagine the effect of seeing Saddam's victims on TV, testifing to the torture they endured at his hands. Then imagine Bush's campaign saying, "If it were up to Howard Dean, Saddam would still be in power." "
