My Japanese friends have been bearish about the Japanese economy and stock market since 1990. Reason: aging population, too many old Japanese and too few young people. According to my Japanese friends, the aging problem will be solved by nature at the end of 2005.

Apparently the western reporters did not consider aging population a factor in Japanese economy.
