Chinese yes. Since the AVERAGE westerner have problems with their similar faces. But not if if a trained western is put there to check the passports.

You know civil servants and you know how they work. I think therein lies the problem. Perhaps is about time to put a private company in charge of this issue. It would pay a hefty fine for every fake passing through.
Then they would get the best brains in the business and would re-design the system until was smooth and flawless.

But this is not going to happen. Since this 'security' thing is to appease the 75% who don;t even have a passport, let alone know how a visa system works.
