Why don't you buy a 3GHz Pentium 4 rather than displaying jealousy of one.

Wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. I'm salivating for an AMD Mobile Athlon 64 3000+ laptop from eMachines.

You'll have to explain then why a Raza VC was trying to get a job at our startup.

I will? Or else what, be in violation of SI's TOU? Maybe he got fired and thought you owed him something. Was he any good? Did you make an offer?

As a group, small businesses employ more people than large businesses.

As a group, small businesses do make a profit, and don't all expect to go public. I'm sure my grocer and car mechanic make more than I do and wouldn't want all that scrutiny.

I get concerned about retirees when I see a person such as yourself display hostility to any entrepreneur including myself, because it is the investment gains in companies that sustains retirees. As a society, we need to encourage entrepreneurs so we have more companies going public to feed retirees, rather than display hostility to them. You also are displaying a sense of entitlement that is disturbing...

Whatever mental processes led you to the conclusion that I'm a "retiree" with a "sense of entitlement" are based on neither logic nor observation. Maybe you have me confused with Paul Engel or Tim May. Also, while I disagree with most of what you post, there's no evidence that I'm hostile "to any entrepreneur". As a group, entrepreneurs are among the most robust individuals in society, generally lacking fear of failure and needing neither encouragement nor support from others. What most of them want from the government is for it to maintain infrastructure, including education, with reasonable tax rates and stay out of the way. An entrepreneur whose startup fails to make money eventually needs to find something else to do.

I hope you encourage your daughter to lead, rather than assume she cannot.

I believe the aphorism: "Lead, follow, or get out of the way." Leading when you don't know where you're going isn't a virtue. My daughter still believes in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, and I don't think such an individual is ready to lead economic policy.
