Just a couple of add ons - I don't know if this stock still trades. If it does, the IRS can claim it is not totally worthless. The Code says you take the loss in the year that the company is worthless, which is not the same as bankrupt or out of money. As to the IRA - you don't get a write off, because you don't pay taxes until you get a distribution. Since you won't be getting anything from this holding, you won't pay taxes on it, but no write off. Ain't that a hoot. BTW - I saw a post here and realized that I have some shares somewhere. I think they are LCST. I'm trying to remember how LCST related to DCTC. Thank goodness, it was a small gamble. If anyone knows, let me know and I'll do my tax returns <gggg>.
