So what is the answer? You need the candidate with the most charisma- then, whether your policies or good or not, you win. The Bush Gore election was a contest between two candidates with no charisma, and neither man was a good choice. The democrats will win as soon as they have someone more appealing than Bush. I am convinced the general public isn't interested in issues, they are only interested in very superficial bumper sticker slogans, that they mistake for issues. Clinton and Blair got elected twice because they appealed to the Bubbas in their respective countries, and there are a lot of Bubbas. I hope Bubba isn't offensive to anyone. I couldn't think of another word that really summed up the uneducated, ignorant sort of person I have in mind.
