The first step is not looking down your nose at the folks you consider uneducated and ignorant in comparison. Those people are your fellow citizens. The work they do affects almost everything you do every day. Under the law they are exactly the same as you.

So the "problem" isn't their being "stupid" if they don't agree with you. Leaders have to lead ALL the people, not a 51% elite that gangs up on the minority due to intellectual superiority (when they can, which isn't often in electoral politics).

For all Clinton's many moral weaknesses and failings, he combined the Bubba world and the policy wonk in one package. He knew the importance of big ideas, and selling them to Bubba down at the diner. He genuinely believed that Bubba was good people.

We have had some games here with a mouse running around our apartment at odd moments. The "superior intellects" remind me of people who screech and shout whenever they see a mouse. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! is not a viable political platform anywhere.
