Neither do I, except to be sure it is wrong. I think what Crichton is getting at is the movement into Science of PoMo. We see it now in "Environmentalism."

There are people out there trying to influence Science with Politics. A lot of this "Ethics" crap is part of it. It's an attempt to take over the field. Sounds ridiculous, but they are making inroads. You will hear talk about "Feminist Science" and "Black Science." Reminds me of the 30s with Hitler's "Aryan Science."

The field that they have really been able to do this in is Anthropology. And it is affecting Biology and Medicine.
