Signs point to economy on sustainable growth path

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - After a series of fits and starts, the U.S. economy may finally be on a sustainable growth path, said Treasury Secretary John Snow.

Recent economic indicators, including the purchasing managers index in December and a steady drop in weekly jobless claims, "suggest a sustainable economic recovery," Snow said in a speech to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
