The philosophy behind it is that the cleansing emollient in conditioner cleans without stripping hair of natural oils, which then have to be replaced with expensive product. I bought some Fekkai finishing polish. Overpriced junk, turns out the main ingredient is olive oil! The other thing is, you don't have to spend a lot for conditioner. In fact, the expensive stuff doesn't work as well. I like St. Ives conditioner.

Two more ways to promote shine call for back to basics: boar bristle brushes; final rinse with cold water...brrr, but it works. :)
