The "they broke the law" argument is a red herring. Stupid, wrong-headed laws are ALWAYS broken, and eventually confined to the trash heap. Government is not all-powerful, even one dictated by courts rather than conferred by the people. A law against the rising tide is broken within a day, and every day thereafter-until repealed...
