I listened to some of the Dems debate last night on NPR and was struck by how foreign policy was scarcely mentioned.

Gosh, Nadine, you're much tougher than I am. I caught about five minutes of the last debate, or maybe it just seemed that long. Anyway, my tolerance for that stuff is well under a minute. I turned it on just as Dean was "answering" a question in typical politician style--briefly acknowledge the question and then change the subject to whatever you want to talk about while pretending that you're still answering the question. This stuff just makes me sick.

For about a year, Republicans and Democrats agreed on the need vigorously to prosecute the war on terror.

It was Iraq. Just about everybody went willingly into Afghanistan. Iraq was too much of a stretch for many.
