Why doesn't Matsushita just forge Stan's name to the patent application and be done with it?

I was in the market for a new microwave and Panasonic's machine was in the competition; but after seeing this incredibly cheap, low stinking rotten maneuver they are out way out of the picture. They are scum. I wouldn't trust them or any of their products.
