The problem is, if you compare Duce's avg. per carry and especially avg. per catch, he's up there with the big boys the past 2 years. He's the only RB in the league to avg. like 10.6 yds. per catch each of the past two years. In his eyes, this justifies a premier contract and perhaps he is right.

I don't think he'll get that here ... although if he doesn't get it elsewhere, I do believe both he and Reid would like him to stay. I do think if he doesn't get a "premier starter" contract elsewhere, the Birds will make a good effort to bring him back. Duce does love playing here, loves his teammates and understands it's a business.

I know he impressed Reid this year with his leadership especially in the lockerroom. I think Reid was more than mildly surprised. That stuff goes a long way in Reid's eyes and will help if Duce doesn't get a great offer elsewhere.
