most of the civets with SARS CoVs actually came from breeding farms.

So that gives some support to the theory. We humans catch colds and illnesses when we are overworked, worn out, "feeling low", ie our bodies defense mechanisms are weak. Maybe if some further thought was put into the design and operation of the breeding farms, the incidence of SARS could be reduced.

I don't think "elimination" of SARS like viruses is possible or even do any good if possible. Trace amounts of bad substances, bugs etc keep the immune systems strong from what I have read.
