Ford joins the satellite radio revolution along with eight other original equipment manufacturers that Delphi provides with satellite radios. Delphi also supplies Ford with other audio and mobile multimedia products.

"We are extremely excited that Ford has selected Delphi to supply their sophisticated and rugged truck platforms with our SIRIUS satellite audio systems," said Jeff Owens, president of Delphi Electronics & Safety. "Our division was created around audio many years ago and our experience shows that satellite radio is one the fastest growing areas for audio technology. It is great to be partnering with Ford on this new opportunity."

Satellite radio allows listeners to enjoy a variety of more than 100 channels of digital quality broadcasts without geographical fading of reception. Satellite radio revolutionized traditional radio when it came on the market two years ago and is one of the fastest growing entertainment features demanded by consumers.

Delphi installed the first in-dash radio in 1936 and has excelled in making quality audio systems for more than 68 years. Delphi has shipped more than 1.8 million OEM and retail satellite radio units since the technology's introduction in 2002. Since its inception, Delphi has produced more than 250 million audio units. Delphi develops and produces telematics, advanced satellite radios, smart radios and rear-seat entertainment systems, among other consumer electronics systems for the vehicle.
