<Hood River part of the Columbia gorge system. Cold air from Canada moves down and the gorge works as a funnel and creates East winds. Gusts to 60 yesterday. May be no wind anywhere else and it rages down the gorge and then hits Portland.>

I know, that's why the Gorge is N.A most favorite windsurfing site in summer,been there .
