I usually go to the last quarterly financial statement where a company should have a complete listing of shares outstanding, employee stock options, and warrants outstanding plus convertibles. Then you can go to their website and look at their newsreleases to see if they have done any other financings since their quarterlies were released.

Going through this exercise can double and triple the total potential shares outstanding for some companies, particularly resource companies that are spinning out paper presently.
