Jim best check out the CIA and ECB sites for gov. debt money growth and other financial info about EZ. Just FYI retired person with no qualification receives around EUR 1,000 to 1,400 per month in pay and add to that various benefits, from the government. How much do they pay in the US in Social Security to a regular worker. EZ problem is much more bigger as the US longer term because population growth differential and aged above 65. JUst do not get me wrong I do think that the US has it wrong but EZ has other long term problem that are not as trivial as trade deficits
