Interesting that Pres Bush announced his new proposal within days of meeting with Fox. Guess he doesn't want to be scolded again. This is essentially the same proposal he was ready to float in September '01, but had to pull because of 9/11-inspired security concerns and fears of foreigners in general. As for the timing, when would be a more appropriate time to float it than just before meeting with Fox? Both of them wanted this more than two years ago - it's not something Fox "won" by scolding Bush. Look, Ann - disagree with the policy if you want and make your case as to why it is bad policy, but your rhetoric betrays your biases (against Bush, Fox, Mexicans) rather than arguing a reasoned position.
