Here is some interesting stuff on "Nationalistic Christianism" Nationalistic Christianism -- a viewpoint that combines Christian phrases and symbolism with the trappings of American patriotism. Following the Will of God means defending America while defending America is the same as defending God. On the one hand Christianity is transformed into a nationalist faith unique to the American republic while on the other hand America is transformed into a state founded on religious principles. This is, then, a political and religious movement which encourages the sort of attitudes that are at the heart of fascism and theocracy. Unfortunately, it seems as though President George W.
