More on the monitor shortage.
Its tough that Dell canot be more forthcoming on the delays,
But if they said there would be a 1 or two month delay, the public would consider that "intolerable", rush over to a competitor, and place an order for one thats promised sooner but actually gets delivered later.
The buyer gets a little revenge on Dell , but at a cost of further delays.
The good part is for the industry as a whole to have a 'shortage' and can maintain or increase prices.
While HPQ can unload their excess inventory of obsolete
'puters at far higher prices than they expected
( I just had to throwthe last comment in for Kemble)
