On the contrary -- commodity prices of all kinds have been moving up and oil is simply the most important one -- a shift of 20% in the price of oil due to the weak dollar is highly significant. The dollar's decline last year, particularly in the last six months, was significantly greater than the prior year. Your assumption that this is only significant if you are planning a European vacation is absurd, although not nearly as funny as your saying that the current account deficit finances itself -- that was the best joke I have heard in a long time., and deserving of the title "Bobonomics-in-fairyland".
