Bush was advised, he may have been advised wrong, but if he was so were just about all world leaders and all prior and current politicians in USA. We can dig up quotes from nearly everyone saying nearly exactly what Bush said but the key point is this, Bush perceived a danger to the USA and he reacted quickly and strongly to face and eliminate that danger. THATS the sign of a strong leader.
Many would have failed to act, fearing exactly the criticism you and others are levelling against him, but what if he HAD been correct and what if a year or two from now Iraq would have threatened OPEC with nuclear weapons if they shipped us any oil? How would you like this winter without heat. jdn
