I got a guy who is based in Round Rock, TX.

A lot of the tech support that Dell layed off is still around Austin & Round Rock. I understand they hired a few back.

One place to find the ex-support is at Fry's. I put together a home built machine and had some trouble with the motherboard configuration. The support staff at Fry's noticed that the motherboard did not actually support the configuration I wanted to run, got a new motherboard from the shelf and set it up. They plugged my processor, my memory, and fans into it and set the necessary jumpers. I just had to take the working thing home and put it into the case. Those guys used to explain all this over the phone for Dell.
