The original athlons were labeled with the actual speed. I guess I didn't make it clear, but it used to say 1.0 ghz and recently (within the last month or two) says 750 mhz. When that first screen comes on it's not there long and I'm usually still cussing whatever caused me to see it.

I don't know if this is related, but some months ago the machine quit rebooting after a reset button or even power switch use (have to switch the power supply off), but that's only a once or maybe twice a week event (even using ME) so I can live with that. BTW don't download the Norton live update that offers a large (2-3 MB) update to 2002 edition if your setup is similar to mine. I had to use Goback to get rid of it; it crashed my system every time I tried to use it and got me to see what the first screen said.

Can't say for sure if the system is slower than before. Seems that way, but only because the CPU speed suggests as much.
