I don't think it's right. I responded to a zero interest credit card offer. The last statement in the disclosure over the phone was that due to Ashcroft's Patriot Act any and all info supplied would be given to the govt. If that had been the first statement, I would have hung up. The claim was that the govt. wanted to prevent money-laundering?! So I suspect if you ask about it, that's what they will say that they're keeping track of everyone to prevent terrorist activity. Of course the stupid Bush govt. completely missed the TX terrorist activity - on purpose? who knows.
