When push comes to shove and liberal Democrats have to decide in the booth, many will be loathe to pull the lever for a General. After all, at its core it's still the anti-military party. Dean's basically got it locked up unless Gore does a flip-flop and decides to enter the race (looking very unlikely at this point).

Clark's position on abortion, till birth decided by the mother, will hurt him too. Most of the country favors the ban on partial birth abortion.
