I have this one neat old book on mining. Have you ever heard of CYCLOPAEDIA OF USEFUL ARTS, Mechanical and Chemical, MANUFACTURES, MINING, AND ENGINEERING. Edited by Charles Tomlinson VOL.1 40, steel engravings, & 2,477 Wood Engravings ( The great exhibition of the works of industry of all nations, 1851 ) Publ. by George Virtue & Co , London & New York This first Vol 1, is for A to G, it has gold, but no Platinum. I don't have Vol. 2 . It's amazing what one finds at a yard sale here, back east, for a buck. I have my own defination of gold also, and my own defination of Leverite, so there! Chucau P.S.- Bring on the Geo/ Chem types, we shall have to also invite the comeonand jumpin2lurkers! Maybe everyone else takes their (and my share) prozack. ( Hope that is not a prerequisite of mellow postings.) If I took it - I would probably drop down to five posts a day. ( On one long one, hey, I'm writting this post.) |
