Which reminds me...

My all time biggest complain about bias in the newspapers is the use of the word, reform. I used to seethe when I'd read reports of "tax reform" that advocated further graduating the tax structure. Bugged me for years. Still bugs me although you don't find it much anymore. The word, reform, connotes correction of a problem. A flat-taxer like me resented the usage for something that, IMO, wasn't an improvement at all but rather the opposite of it.

I thought about that again in the last couple of days with the appearance of "immigration reform." Whoever appropriates the label has a big advantage. I'm not sure this immigration proposal qualifies as reform, either.
