Well, I saw Laura Tyson, now Dean of the London school of Economics (formerly Clinton treasury dept) on cnbc the other night and she was debating the supply siders Larry Kudlow and someone else. Imho she ran circles around the others because she kept bringing up these huge economic issues like the job loss and the fact that in an 8% GDP environment wages hadn't even increased 1% (meaning a net decrease in real buying power) in a consumer driven economy and what was that going to mean for the long term. No answers from the supply side. John Snow the treasury secretary was predicting 150K jobs today but Kudlow and Cramer were speculating 300K last night, and a huge market rally today. Just the fact that people so close to the white house can be so offbase, where any US citizen can very easily see what is going on is disturbing. I am actually predicting a few mos of negative job gains coming up.
