I do think we should continue to explore, but we need to do it with machines, at least for the moment.

Down the road, manned flight will reemerge. I think that there will be discoveries that will enable space flight more easily for manned flight.

Yes the imagination was captured 30 years ago, and it continues to thrill with the space shuttle flights.

But spending $300 billion to go to the moon and hit a golf ball?

I think we need to be smarter about our resources. Do great things, but do them responsibly and not at the expense of human suffering. Deciding where that line is will not be easy.

But hey if we can take the pocket change out of the couches of the world and put a man on mars then why not? Unless you say if we can take the pocket change out of the couches of the world and end hunger and disease, which would you choose?
