In those parts of the world, there is a lot of wheeling and dealing, many of them very unethical and would not in any way come close to the level of ethics that our politicians indulge in.

No duh Chinu... Again, that's one of the reasons that much of the world remains severely behind the industialized states. Corrupt leadership and lack of institutional human and property rights aimed at unleashing human ingenuity..

We saw that in 1991 and then now when the US military went in. Besides being all talk, they also lie. So the WMD was all a hoax.

And let's see... We're supposed to be call Ms. Cleo and rely upon her "expert opinion" on whether Saddam has destroyed his WMDs or not?

I can only imagine if we handled law enforcement in a similar manner.. After all, we all know criminals lie, steal, and are unlikely to ever change their ways..

So we should just believe them when they say they have complied with the law? We should just expect them to defy legitimate "search warrants" and accept their word when they refuse to cooperate?

WMDs can be manufactured very quickly and they can be destroyed very quickly. So why would they maintain a stockpile. It is convenient for them to lie.

Thank you.. But the cease fire accord stated that Iraq would be required to NEVER AGAIN initiate a WMD program. And that requires a change in the nature of the government (eg: what Qaddafi seems to finally realize)..

Those accords, or the UN sanctions and resolutions which were passed to enforce them were not aimed at just destroying current inventories of WMDs.. They were to create a permanent change in Saddam's attitude towards producing/using them in the future..

So here we have a lying regime, incessantly obstructing the inspections process, undermining international confidence in their sincerity, yet we're supposed to just accept that as the status quo according to their nature?

So they lied and now the US is left holding the bag in front of the world community. In Saddam's books that is his victory, however convoluted that may sound to you and me.

That's BS, And you know it!! Saddam is in prison. The Baathist party castrated, his sons are dead, and you're claiming that this is a "victory" for Saddam?

I'd like to see a few more of the world's dictators enjoy those kinds of victories.

Now the tie between Taliban and Osama is something I believe to be true.

That's like rubbing a dog's nose in it's own doo-doo... If you haven't been convinced of that connection previously, you're obviously out of touch with any semblance of reality.

There's NO DOUBT that this is true Chinu...

That is pure dynastic rivalry, tribal rivalry with the Kurds etc. etc. not terrorism as Bush and his men categoize. Bush's read is way off base.

Sure it's dinastic rivalry.. But when Bush Sr. beat the crap out of Saddam, his honor dictated that he had to restore his honor. And that's why Saddam attempted to assassinate GWB Sr.. And sure, the Sunnis have tried to preserve their "elite" status in Iraqi society. Just like the Saudis do the same in Arabia.. All to the detriment of other ethnicities in those countries.

But even beyond that, Saddam also threatened to re-invade Kuwait, requiring a massive reinforcement of US forces in the region. He harbored Abu Nidal, Abu Abbas, and provided sanctuary and logistical support for other terrorist groups.

No one is going to cry over Saddam's passing. And eventually the Iraqi Sunnis will recognize they have far more to lose through their intolerance of Shiites and Kurds than they have to gain.

For we all know that the majority of resistance we've seen in Iraq is from the Sunni triangle.

So once again, I ask you... where are those 6,000 WMD warheads?
