I'm a New England snob and I have had all. When we are driving back down south the first thing my wife looks for is breakfast with grits.

I spent a few New Years days at my friends house outside of Ft Rucker eating his Mothers black eyed peas with ham hock. Not only great but she said it was traditional cause it brought good luck for the rest of the year.

Ever have a huge pot of boiled peanuts? Not as good as roasted IMO but in Enterprise Alabama (peanut capital of the world) you try peanuts many different ways.

Also did a lot of squirrel and rabbit hunting in that area. We used to just gut them and bring them over to our coaches house where his wife would deep fry them. Fantastic!

I know I tried okra but must not have really care about it one way or the other. I know it wasn't eaten by many of the folks I hung out with or I would have remembered.

I had a great time down in Rebel land and the rebs never kicked my ass once cause I was a yank. The only complaint I
would find now about it is the heat and humidity. I'm not used to it any more and it is harder to take when your not.
