""But in Washington, the CBO's irrefutable conclusion won't produce any noticeable reaction because there's already a firmly established bipartisan policy concerning the future: forget about it.""

I beg to differ with Mr. Samuelsons statement of CBO's irrefutable conclusion. The CBO's record of predicting the future is one of dismal failure. Their computer models are reminiscent of the Global Warming theorists. Garbage in garbage out. Or. even more so, what they want the results to show, IN, and what they want the results to show, OUT. If the results aren't what we seek, do it over and over, if necessary. If you go to the OMB or White House Budget Office and compare their predictions with CBO you will see their disagreements over a period of years can be measured in the trillions. They each serve their own masters. None are near correct, even part of the time.
