I sensed you were grouping me with a bunch of folks who are and were opposed to the Iraq war on all levels.
I don't fall into that category. I have repeatedly said I wish we took on Iraq with more allies participating, or more clandestinely. I have not said, but feel that some Arab or Muslim support would have been very nice as well. All of this is because I think how we look to the rest of the world is very important.
By my count, of the 350,000 troops in Iraq, 300,000 are American, 45,000 British, and under 4000 from the balance of the 'coalition of willing.' That's not an international force.
I do not understand why your are aghast at my comment about Weapons of Mass Destruction. I could guess it is because you feel that Saddam's atrocities are so significant that the WMD are a non-issue, but the rest of the world thinks it is, and I am concerned about how we stand in the global community.
I am not an isolationist, and I am concerned that our nation is heading in that direction and I suspect you either don't care, or approve.
I am going to stop here and see if we can get back on track.
Let's see if we can focus on what are disagreements are and discuss those disagreements. |
