They're doing as they're told, for the most part. There are a few tough cookies still reporting the truth, God love 'em. But, except for the journalists at the alternative sources; they're about the only true journalists left. As Dan Rather noted on David Letterman, any reporter in the mainstream media risks an aprtheid-style "necklacing" for telling it like it is.
Not that I'm surprised since corporate America runs the media show now and most so-called journalists have little real-life experience. My motto, "The masses are asses," does not exclude someone just because they have a masters degree in journalism from the diploma mill.
