The U.S. is privy to Israel's concerns about the upcoming discussions on the security fence at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. American officials believe these anticipated discussions will set a negative precedent, and politicize international law.

We have certainly taken some opposing views to walls over the years.

McNamara's dream was to build a wall separating N and S Vietnam.

We were opposed to the Berlin Wall from the day construction began, August 11, 1961, until Reagan successfully ordered it torn down.

We regularly oppose the separation of families caused by the walls and fences separating N and S Korea.

There may be a history lesson here.
McNamara's Wall was being built by the US.
The Berlin wall was built by E Germans and Soviet troops.
The original Korean wall was started by the N Koreans.

In each case, those who built the wall fared the worst.

I won't mention the black wall called "The Vietnam Veterans Memorial".
