So, which one do you chose to neutralize ?

I saw your question last night and it bothered me that I had not broken through my ambivalence after all these years. I remember from Psych 1 that avoidance/avoidance conflicts are hardest on the system. That one has certainly been hard on mine given that I'm an inherently positive person. So I slept on it and amazingly woke up with a tentative answer.

I decided that, if push came to shove, I'd hold my nose and go with the socialists.

Previously I had been focused on which group's objectives were more damaging and I couldn't choose. They're both awful. Either, if successful, could easily be our downfall. And, like, does it really matter to which ideology one loses freedom?

So I approached the problem not by comparing outcomes but by comparing the likelihood of the outcomes. Right now the socialists are ebbing and the religionists are flowing. Thus there is less risk of contributing to a bad outcome in siding with the former.

Thanks for calling the question.

Good to read you and Happy New Year...

Back atcha.
