In five years time -I expect the next enlargement round then- Russia will be candidate to be part of the EU, together with Ucrania and Romania. By 2010/2012 will the Central Asia's turn... As I keep writing here: The US needs badly its own self-contained Western hemisphere. Only that they are afraid of Brazil and hence keeps only Canada and Mexico.
